NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore splashed off near Tallahassee, Florida nine months after the International Space Station.
They splashed down with NASA astronaut Nick Hague and Russian astronaut Aleksandr Gorbunov.
Williams and Wilmore stayed for 286 days on technical issues on Boeing spacecraft, which aims to return it to Earth.
Their initial mission was to last for eight days.
