Moroccan carpet brands at the peak of summer Benny Launched its new Chroma 1 series – a range of 11 styles of weaving, with bold color combinations and minimal patterns.
The carpet was shot on a sunny day in Fire Island, New York, and is located in a modern Pines home on the shore designed by Peter Asher from 1968 to 1969. The juxtaposition of the traditional wooden material of the house and its bold modernist form is combined with the effects of Chroma I Rugs, with the effects of Chroma I Rugs, whose colors are combined with modern technology in North Africa.
The resulting palette uses contrasting tones and different stripes to characterize, and its roots are in the artists Ellsworth Kelly‘ Range of colors arranged by chance. This set is used as a study of the role of color in forming aesthetic perception, placing earth tones with the colors of saturated sunlight, such as red, orange and yellow.
“Combined with Ellsworth Kelly’s concept of spatial unity, the series’ identity is supported by its juxtaposition,” Beni’s artistic director Colin King shared. “Exploring how each color interacts with each other is what makes each design so rhythmic in nature.”
Although the collection is aesthetically (especially with naming inspiration) read as Chroma 1 is essentially rooted in ancient Moroccan and North African handicrafts. The simple flat weave “Zahara” style is weaved in tiny knots, providing an ideal light-colored feel to the hot conditions of its Sahara origins.
