This is not a reference to the 2019 live album and documentary concert film of the same name by the singer and songwriter on the tour, but a homage to the Lonely Star Homecoming tradition of real life.
The two-night Cowboy Carter performance outside NRG Stadium was a striking rally over the weekend. Texas-sized chrysanthemum corsages are in the parade, decorated with ribbons and decorative spiritual ornaments, nailed to the shoulders (to the south, we call them moms). The red, white and blue silk belts also slice the crowds to be customized on the cover of the Grammy Award-winning (Best Country Album, Anyone?) record. And because of the accidental gradual doubling on June 28, a group of self-proclaimed Queens Bay fenced the metaphorical homecoming court as a result of International LGBTQI+ Pride Day.
Beyoncé’s past and present stages look full of Easter eggs. Many costumes honored the opening NFL’s 2024 Christmas midfield show. Many concert participants drew stark stylist and costume designer Shiona Turini from all-white suits on furry, feathers and rhinestones produced by Shiona Turini for Cowboy Carter Christmas. Others pay tribute to the classic Americans, the patriotic flag waving in the loop of Levi or Wrangler’s denim belt.

After not finding anything like that, she sewed on all these cheaters and thought, “Why not do it yourself?”
