MicroStrategy (MSTR) has changed its name to a strategy to simplify its brand and reflect the company’s focus, IT Announced on Wednesday.
Strategy’s new logo includes the famous Bitcoin “B”, which marks the company’s Bitcoin treasury strategy, with the new main color of the name being orange.
“This brand simplification is a natural development for the company, reflecting its focus and wide appeal,” the release said.
Since its debut in 1989, MicroStrategy, founded by current executive chairman Michael Saylor, is primarily a software and infrastructure company. However, over the past five years, it has gradually shifted to focus primarily on the accumulation of Bitcoin, with its operating software business accounting for only a small part of the company’s valuation.
Last year, the company began calling itself a Bitcoin strategy company.
The strategy announced fourth-quarter earnings results after Wednesday’s end, and analysts expect the company to report net losses as it continues to delay higher bitcoin holdings.
