BMW vision driving experience test vehicle information


BMW The “vision driving experience” has been introduced, a testing tool designed to push the limits of driving power and efficiency. Although there is no planned production, this high-performance prototype is BMW’s next-generation rolling lab New lesson Model, testing the function of “Happy Heart”, which is a new powertrain and power control unit.

Tested at the BMW Performance Driving Center in Spartanburg, USA, the visual driving experience shows how the joyful core changes electric mobility. The advanced system processes data ten times faster than previous iterations to ensure precise control of acceleration, braking, steering and energy recovery. The Heart of Joy developed in-house is one of the four central computing units in the Neue Klasse vehicle and will be integrated into future BMW EVS.

The joyful core is optimized with BMW dynamic performance control, ensuring seamless traction and handling even under extreme conditions. The test car has an astonishing 18,000 nm (13,269 lb-ft) of torque, proving the system’s ability to handle large amounts of power while maintaining stability and accuracy.

Efficiency can see a significant improvement in energy recovery, thus reducing reliance on traditional braking. According to BMW, 98% of the daily braking alone can be handled by recovery, improving efficiency by 25% and expanding the vehicle’s range.

This next-generation technology can enable acceleration, precise turns and near-seamless stops. In addition, the illuminated rims of the visual driving experience visually indicate acceleration (green), recovery (blue) and traditional braking (orange), providing real-time feedback on system operation.

While the visual driving experience itself isn’t at production, Joy’s core will debut in the first Neue Klasse model launched at the BMW Debrecen plant in Hungary later this year.
