He said his tank plans to keep carrying the business for two years while figuring out what K.Ngsley can and should do. Recently, the ghost of Trump administration tariffs means more financial juggling. “This time (after the last Trump presidency) is cruel,” he said. “I learned you have to be agile – thankfully we designed our clothes so they are season-free. Tariffs are one thing, but we also see changes in spending for customers. So things are tense, but again, I’m just grateful for what I can do with what I can do.”
It is this spirit, a kind of optimism or realism, just like his excellent outfits that make K.Ngsley an important part of the fashion landscape in New York. “I love that we have a young, brave and smart brand,” the brand can do something to communicate with, like his pre-inspired jewelry, which borrows that little blue pill. “In our community, even in 2025, the infection rates for black and brown remain the highest,” he said. “Creating this kind of jewelry, I said, ‘I want you to be yourself – I want you to be sexually liberated, but I also want you to be safe.’”
“What I want to say in the last five years is that it’s a journey,” Gbadegesin noted. “I won’t lie: every collection, every launch, every activation, every delivery: it’s 10 minutes of your fame.
