The referee ruled Worthy had completed the catch and it was the Chiefs’ ball, not the Bills’ interception. Buffalo was also given a holding penalty, so it was unlikely the ball would get back into their hands.
Bills head coach Sean McDermott questioned whether it was a complete catch. Replays appeared to show the tip of the football hitting the ground. But the show was still judged a failure.
