During today’s meeting of Disney Company shareholders, Director General Bob Iger shared that the studio and Pixar officially work on a sequel to his Academy Award -winning lively feature Coconut. The excitement for the family film starring Gael Garcia Bernal and Anthony Gonzales, who opened the world to the Divine traditions of Los Muertos in Mexico, is not dead. Its history of Michael, a child, who accidentally crosses to the country of the dead and goes an adventure to reunite with his family, has captured hearts all over the world.
This is what we know Coco 2 From Iger’s announcement: “While the film is only in the initial stages, we know that it will be full of humor, heart and adventure. And we can’t expect to share sooner.” It has also been reported that director Lee Unkrich and co-director Adrian Molina will return to help the film with producer Mark Nielsen.
There is currently a boat ride attraction for Coconut In the works at Disney California adventure as part of Disneyland Resort’s expansion plans. We wonder if the new movie could serve as an influence or even if the ride could open to coincide with the release of the sequel, nor has a right date to open. The production of Coco 2 are in early stages and we are ecstatic to find out what the aftermath will bring. A family matriarch coconut passed away at the end of the first movie, so you have to guess another day of the dead adventure. As a Mexican American, I personally glad that the film is expanding on the beloved annual celebration of the world of Mexico, and I can’t wait to see how Pixar will make us cry again. I still can’t listen to “remember me” without breaking tears.
