Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill shared with Fox News digital numbers in a statement: “Louisiana successfully performed Jesse Hoffman with nitrogen hypoxia.”
Hoffman, 46, was convicted in 1996 Kidnapping, rape and murder Mary “Molly” Elliott, 28, was the advertising director.
Elliott kidnapped Hoffman from her home the day before Thanksgiving, who was 18 years old and was shooting execution style in the countryside of St. Tammany Parish.

“Hoffmann was convicted in 1996 for the cruel and ruthless rape and murder of 28-year-old Molly Elliott. Tonight, Molly and Louisiana are justice.”
“Governor Jeff Landry and I promise to the citizens of Louisiana and family members of these heinous crime victims that we will abide by the law and put it first.”
Hoffman refused to issue a final statement before gas began to flow, and he was later pronounced dead in a Louisiana prison, according to the Associated Press.
Authorities said the nitrogen flowed for 19 minutes during what an official called the “Flawless” execution, although a witness claimed to have seen Hoffman twitch in the process.
Shortly before Hoffman was scheduled to be executed, the U.S. Supreme Court voted 5-4 to deny the last lockdown requirement.

Hoffman’s attorney Cecelia Kappel previously and in a state appeal, had no success in arguing that the execution of a convicted murderer through nitrogen would be unconstitutional and would violate his religious freedom.
“It’s conscious choking,” Capel told WVUE. “It has a pillow on its face. It’s like drowning.”
The appeal states that since Hoffman is a Buddhist, his breathing and meditation practices will be destroyed by the execution process.
“He proposed, ‘Kill me with a shooting squad.’ “‘At least then, I could breathe air when I die. “The country said no.”

Louisiana officials say The approach deprives a person of oxygen, which is painless, claims that over the past decade and a half, the state is expected to provide justice for the victim’s families — a pause caused by the inability to secure lethal injections.
Hoffman was granted temporary probation by a federal judge (the federal judge) but was overturned by the Fifth Circuit on Friday and also refused other attempts to stop the state’s execution Tuesday morning.
Muriel said the court’s ruling would help bring justice to Elliott.
“Break: The Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals overturns the Hoffman case injunction. The convicted killer and rapist will be brought to justice on Tuesday,” Muriel wrote in an article on X.

Murrill added that she hopes there will be at least four people on the death row in Louisiana this year.
“The last execution in Louisiana was in 2010 Gerald Bordelon, the convicted murderer and sex offender. Justice was delayed for too long. I, together with the Louisiana Department of Justice, continue to work to ensure justice is carried out in all death penalty cases in Louisiana.”

Hoffman will be the seventh man in the United States in 2025, with the first execution in Louisiana since 2010. He is the fifth ever American man executed by nitrogen, with the first four taking place in Alabama.

Currently, nitrogen deaths are allowed in only four states, including Louisiana, Alabama, Mississippi and Oklahoma. However, this method is only used in Alabama.
According to the Associated Press, the number of executions nationwide has dropped sharply due to legal struggles.
