- Seoul High Court rejects Newjeans’ appeal to terminate the exclusive contract with Ador
- Court insists on banning members from solo entertainment without Ador’s consent
- Newjeans cites broken trust and suspected abuse; court’s third favorable court rules
I love Announced that Seoul High Court rejects appeal filed by five members Nyjen Terminate the exclusive contract with the tag.
In the official statement, Ador said
“We sincerely thank the court for its ruling. We hope this ruling will bring members the opportunity to Newev and resume their activities. As they approach their third anniversary next month, Ador is committed to providing full support for the further growth and success of the artist.”
The court upheld the existing agreement that prohibits members from performing independent entertainment without Ador’s prior consent. This marks the third consecutive ruling, which is a ruling that favors labels Moving and April 2025.
With their appeal, Newjeans sees their relationship with the former CEO possible – They were “completely destroyed” under their debut leadership due to changes in management. They also listed allegations of abuse and harassment by ador staff, although the claims were reportedly dismissed because South Korean laws do not classify artists as workers under labor protection regulations. The group further noted that if the ban is not overturned, they will face “irreversible harm”, including prolonged leave, which could seriously affect their careers.
The preliminary injunction remains in effect and continues to limit any individual efforts of the group without the ador approval.
