Ryan Garcia says Terence Crawford “Can’t beat” Unified Super Middleweight Champion Canelo Alvarez is in the fight in September. Garcia noted that Crawford (41-0, 31 kos) “looked not strong” when he played against Israel Madrimov in Los Angeles last August.
Crawford’s Flaws
The 5’8 1/2-inch Madrimov isn’t that big, nor is it the Canelo’s 168-year-old hole punch. Crawford looked like his age in that battle, like a 40 fighter, and his power did not extend from the 147-pound division. He was illuminated by Madrimov throughout the battle, and his right hand was eaten, and his shot had no power.
Crawford looks like the typical 40-year-old against Madrimov and is lucky to win. As a group of different judges focused on harder, cleaner landing shots, they would win Madrimov. His fists are more effective every round.
Crawford’s view in this battle, he would lose to Madrimov in a rematch and be destroyed by other 154-pounders like Bakhram Murtazaliev, Serhii Bohachuk and Jr. Vergil Ortiz Jr.
Canelo-Crawford wouldn’t have happened if it weren’t for Riyadh season, because Alvarez wouldn’t have been addicted to Crawford to give him this battle, and he didn’t win it to prove himself against the killer, David Benavidez, David Morrell and Osleys Iglesias.
If Crawford wants to take Canelo’s golden parachute retirement payday, let him pass these three, and if anything remains afterward, let him fight the Mexican superstar.
Crawford would never do this because the result was negative for him. He will play these guys 0-3 and may be eliminated by everyone. A tiny 40-year-old targeting those fighters would be mismatched.
“Not looking strong”
“He can’t beat Canelo, there’s no way,” Ryan Garcia told Akin Reyes & Barak Bess Youtube Channel about Terence Crawford’s failure to defeat Canelo Alvarez during the September battle. “I can’t see him defeating Canelo. Honestly, he doesn’t even have a strong look at Israel, and frankly, Madrimov isn’t even that big.”
“They have two different styles,” Akin said, why his defense was so poor about Madrimov, defeating the entire battle, barely defeating him.
“In a counterattack,” Beth said of Madrimov’s fighting style.
“What I’m with Canelo is that he’s already mastering his style and he won’t change it,” Ryan said. “He’s already mastering it. He always knows the ring happening. I just can’t see Terence beat him. I don’t.”
It was awful that Riyadh didn’t let Crawford skip a few baskets for the Canelo fight, because it would make it even more fun for casual boxing fans who don’t know who he is or don’t like his fighting style. At least, Crawford must go through David Benavidez or David Morrell to get the Canelo fight. Just one of these two and you get the fight. If you lose, oh.
