
Appear, Sir David Beckham! The former England captain, who was previously awarded OBE in 2003, will receive the Cavaliers on a portion of the King’s Birthday Honors List for his contribution to football and British society.
Beckham’s career to date has undoubtedly been an outstanding career, winning six Premier League titles, two FA Cups and one Champions League title for Manchester United, and one for Spanish League titles, with a French League title in Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Day titles respectively. The athlete is also an ambassador of UNICEF and plays a key role in bringing the 2012 Olympics to London.
Both David and Victoria Beckham were awarded OBE for serving the fashion industry in 2017 and will now be a lady – having attended many royal events over the years, including a state banquet in Qatar in December 2024, and a dinner at Highgrove House to celebrate the UK ties with Italy in February. They also attended the wedding of the Prince of Wales and the Princess of Wales in 2011, and the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex in 2018.
The King’s honor is designed to recognize “people from all walks of life, with public recognition, service or courage.” Twice a year, on New Year’s Day and on June 14th the King’s birthday. TV host Claudia Winkleman will become MBE; former tennis player Virginia Wade will become OBE; and actor Adjoa Andoh, will become MBE.
