Dick Vitale Sharing an emotional message as he sided for the last game he would call this time.
“It’s a great exciting for me. I get emotional. I might be emotional, you know, it’s my last game,” Vitale, 85, said on Saturday, March 15, ACC championship game. “I hope and pray that my doctor really helps me with my voice. … I have to listen to my doctor today. He told me, the sound of this game in a week.”
Vitale gave a shout of his fans and the people who supported him, including ESPN for “allowing and suffering me in parts of my issues.”
“It’s a miracle, real. To sit here with you guys. I can’t tell you what it means to me. It’s unbelievable,” Vitale said through tears, each EPS. “Perfect three years, those four cancer fights. I don’t want anyone. Break the cancer.”

He’s going on, “I’ll tell you this, anyone who is fighting cancer, please feel like someone to have a phone call, I’m going to be a phone call, I’m going to be a phone call. Time. I have to stay all night and my family has left. “
Vitale remembers “cry like crazy” before a nurse arrives and “cheer” him. He recalls with “messages from the whole country” on his phone.
Sports announcement has received treatment for Melanoma and Lymphoma Of 2021 and cannot speak within four months after surgery for prognoncrous dysplasia and ulcerous lesions. He was diagnosed with cancer in the vocal cord in 2023 and walked from announcement.
In June 2024, Vitale shared he undergo another operation to Remove cancer lymph nodes from his neck. Months later, Vitale shared that She’s free of cancer.
