The party made its debut on Saturday, June 21 in a 27-foot Gold Chris-Craft motorboat near DL Bliss State Park. Initially, the organization’s outing was initially welcomed by clear skies and calm waters when a powerful storm swept the lake.
According to the U.S. Coast Guard, the wind swelled up to 8 feet, reaching 30 knots. Boat Sloped before 3 p.m., throwing all ten crew members into the icy waters of Lake Tahoe.

Two unidentified people survived the accident. Both were rescued and taken to a local hospital in life jackets, the department said.

Six bodies were recovered on the day of the incident. The remaining two were found in the following days and a final recovery was made on Monday afternoon.
“The success of search and recovery operations will be almost less efficient without the assistance of partner agencies,” the sheriff’s office said.
The department said the recovery operation also requires senior divers and professional teams, such as the Wild Discoverer Search Dog Team.
