Elizabeth Holmes says from prison she’s ‘committed’ to ‘making healthcare solutions available to everyone’


People’s magazine landed the first interview With Elizabeth Holmes since she reported to prison in 2023, and the convicted founder Therano says she is still working on “research and inventions” in the health space.

“I remain completely compromised with my dream of making affordable health solutions available to everyone,” she told the magazine.

Holmes, who promised not guilty of her trial in 2021, told Danielle Bacher of People that she “refused to plead guilty of crimes I did not commit. Theranos failed. But failure is not a fraud.”

The interview also covers her life in the federal prison in Bryan, Texas, where she performs an 11.25-year sentence, which has been reduced to nine years for good behavior. Holmes was found guilty of Four calculations of fraud in 2022. Her former Theranos partner Sunny Balwani was found guilty On 12 allegations that same year and received a 13-year sentence.
