The landmark’s X account showed a video of the building rising from the ground in green.
“I’m sorry I have to do this,” the post read. “Shine in the @Eagles colors in honor of their NFC Championship win.”
The account made it clear that whoever wins the AFC Champions League will be lit up in color, but that doesn’t seem to matter that much. Fans criticized the building for using different colored lights to support Philadelphia’s NFL team. Consider it a betrayal to the city.

Two years ago, the Empire State Building showed its support for the Eagles when they defeated the San Francisco 49ers to reach Super Bowl 57. When the Chiefs won the AFC Championship that year, the building also lit up in red.
Regardless, New York’s football team hasn’t had anything to be happy about in a long time.

The New York Jets finished the season with a 5-12 record. The Jets have not made the playoffs since the 2010 season.
