EPA administrator Lee Zeldin defended his decision, demanding an Obama-era rule that allowed the agency to regulate vehicles, aircraft and coal-fired power plants to combat climate change, vowing that he would not regulate the “whole sector of the economy” that existed.
“Hazard Discovery” published by former President Obama’s Environmental Protection Agency finds that greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide, methane and others threaten human life because they accelerate climate change. EPA relies on “hazard detection” to install strict Regulations for various industriesincluding automobiles, air travel and energy, business leaders say threaten the viability of the company.
It is worth noting that hazard discovery is part of what the Biden administration calls the basis Electric Vehicle License By 2032, more than half of all cars sold will need more than half.
Zeldin announced this He is abolishing In a speech at the Indianapolis auto dealership in July, “The Holy Grail of Climate Change Religion.” He called the announcement “the biggest deregulation announcement in U.S. history” and said he had ended a decade of uncertainty among U.S. automakers and consumers.

Zeldin told CNN on Sunday that when the rules pass, administrators rely on optimistic and pessimistic predictions surrounding the future effects of climate change that have not been resolved. He said his decision relies on “the facts of 2025, not the false assumptions of 2009”. He also said the hazard discovery was beyond the scope of the EPA’s legal scope, i.e. “Filling legal gaps” and essentially legislation.
He said the agency could not violate the law to achieve its goals, and the issue surrounding pollution “mobile sources” like cars needs to be handled by Congress. He accused Obama-era bureaucrats of participating in a “spiritual leap” to justify hazard discoveries.

“I won’t be creative with the law, we will read ordinary language, and if Article 202 of the Clean Air Act is amended by Congress, then we will follow this new law.”
Article 202 of the Clean Energy Act allows EPA to regulate motor vehicles. Zeldin claims that the hazard ruling exceeds the mandate of vehicles stipulated by the agency. He accused the Biden administration of using dangerous discoveries to regulate the existence of the coal industry. When CNN host Kassie Hunt put pressure on why he didn’t just put the discovery in place, Selding said he didn’t “make up for the law.”
