Remias initially intended to fly to Rome himself, but the personal situation was interfered – so he called on Daly.

Daley told Fox News Digital that her mission when shipping pizza is to “freeze it as much as possible.”
She collected dry ice, placed the pizza in a cooler, and spoke with the Transportation Safety Administration (TSA) to ensure it passed safety screening and customs.

Everything goes as planned, the pizza stays frozen, clean and protected – until everything is in it briefly tangled in the trash can.
“The pizza was thrown away by a maid in one of the apartments, and the trash could be kept away from our apartments and wrapped in plastic, so it was still completely safe, but it was thrown away,” Daly recalled.
“The Pope is one of us…he remembers where he came from.”
“My mom is in contact with the landlord and begging, ‘Please tell me where the trash is. I’ll go find it. You don’t understand how important this pizza is.”
