Every franchise if it is entitled to continue long enough, strikes a wall Sooner or later. Nothing lasts forever, as they say, and we have seen this event come sooner or later in different tastes.
But not many hit the wall at all as Fast & Furious. One of the biggest, stupidest Hollywood franchises around now are scheduled to finish their main run of movies in April 2027 with Quick Xi. It is an end that cannot come soon enough, honestly. Fast Xs Biggest crime was not half a film – although from summer 2023 trio of Semi-moviesIt was easily the worst of the beam – but how much it confirmed the smokes of the series eventually decreased.
The question of where this series goes always hanging around post-Furious 7, who only felt concluding because it suddenly had to be picked up as a farewell to the late Paul Walker and his character, Brian O’Connor. The writers for these characters probably didn’t think long before Walker’s demise, so it’s impossible to know how this franchise would be otherwise.
For better or worse, Brian was an anchor (UGH) for Fast & Furious, And things collapsed without him. The consequences tried to position different roles to fill that void, but the tested candidates – less than no one in Fate of the furious, Dom Jacob’s brother in F9, and ex-Fast Baddies Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw – are either too green or too experienced to really settle with the other characters who all played the same notes through the Fast saga.
People have never really been the strong outfit of these movies, but it feels more and more that the cast is in a car pilot until it’s time for a car scene or stunt, not helped by the gradual slot from an ensemble piece to “The Dom Toretto Show (and friends)” and ever more questionable characters. (Vin Diesel’s refusal to share the spotlight with anyone else may be the franchise’s greatest damage, and if you don’t believe me, go watch Dungeons & Dragons To see how much more wake up Michelle Rodriguez compared to these films. Actually, go look at that anyway because it’s great.)

Such nonsense can be forgiven, for example, Mission: Impossible, But these films have smaller characters and generally use more withholding. In the past, Fast Hugging idiocy made for a fun show; Looking at the final act of Furious 6 In theaters with a crowd there was a delusional good time. But stunt-wise, the series may have peaked Seven Or Fate, Something that the creative forces seem to have finally recognized themselves.
On its face, Diesel’s promise of Quick Xi Entered in LA and returning to the first movie’s car culture and street wife is not a bad thing and can even result in some more inventive fixed pieces now that they have to reappear. Dwayne Jonshon and Jason Momoa A presented double act can help square that round when or if the time comes.
Come April 2027, I will probably be there in the theaters watching Quick Xi With everyone else to see how things are over. The series has enough good entries under its belt to guarantee see it to the end and see the inevitably disorderly way as they bring Brian back into the fold. I just want it to come out better terms after all the goodwill it built with its middle entries. But we got Brazil and the longest airport run in the world, so at least it’s.
