Witnesses said his daughter fell off the fourth deck of the 14th-floor Disney cruise on Sunday afternoon, a father jumped into the ocean to try to save her.
Videos on social media showed passengers cheering as the two were safely restored by the rescue ship. Witnesses said they were picked up after 10 minutes of trampling on water.
Witnesses said the girl seemed to have fallen when her father took pictures on the railing. A man’s height alert aired on the boat and the crew hurriedly recovered them.
“The ship moves quickly, very quickly, people turn into small dots at sea very quickly, and then you can’t see them,” said passenger Laura Amador.
“The captain slowed down the ship, turned it around, and then they deployed a tender ship with the people above so they could save them, and we saw them rescue their father and daughter.”
After four days sailing next to the Bahamas, Disney’s 4,000-person Disney dream returns to Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
Disney confirmed in a statement that the two passengers were rescued, but there were few details about what happened.
“The crew of the Disney Dream quickly rescued two guests from the water,” a Disney Cruise Line spokesman said. “We praise our staff for their excellent skills and quick action, which ensures the safe return of both guests within minutes.

“We looked and you could see two things… It was crazy, it was horrible,” passenger Gar Frantz told NBC News, describing how he witnessed both into the ocean and almost disappeared from the horizon.
The incident happened on the last day of the cruise, with the ship returning to the port in Florida normally.
While few passengers fall off a cruise ship, rescues are often not successful in doing so.
According to Cruise International Association Report for 2019That year, 25 people fell from the cruise ship and only nine were rescued from the water.
