Former Bachelor Star Katie Thurston She is in “survival mode” when she is struggling with stage 3 breast cancer.
Thurston was diagnosed with Stage 3 three positive ductal carcinoma In February.
“You are in survival mode,” she said during her appearance.Good morning USA. “Like, you have no choice. You appear or die.
“And I hate to say that, but, like you…every day you have dates. Every day you have to show up. You have no choice.”

Thurston did not seek medical care immediately after finding the lump, and her advice to others was “don’t wait.”
“When I felt the lump, it was sour,” she recalled. “And, as women, we were used to being told, like, ‘Oh, this could be a month for you,’ or ‘Oh, it’s from exercise.” So I brushed it for a while and finally decided to see a doctor. ”
Thurston’s tumors first require chemotherapy to shrink in size before they can be removed.

Understanding her cancer diagnosis is “like the worst feeling ever.”
“Like, you’re just destroyed,” she said. “You’re so devastating. It’s shocking.
“As a 34-year-old woman, just-you’re not ready yet.”
Thurston appeared in Season 17 of The Bachelorette, and she chose Blake Moynes. He proposed to Thurston, but the engagement was short-lived. The two said they withdrew in October 2021.

After that, Thurston continued to move forward and became Engaged to comedian Jeff Arcuri months before she was diagnosed with cancer.
“We think we’re planning a wedding,” Thurston said. “We think we’re going to work for babies. Instead, we know this year is really committed to treating and getting better.”

“We have done everything we can to be proactive for our future and our family plans,” the former “Bachelor” star explained. “But if IVF doesn’t work, then if chemotherapy does have a negative impact on my reproductive health, then we can also be a childless couple.”
Before her cancer diagnosis, Thurston and Acury Plan to elope. Now, reality TV stars are looking forward to planning a wedding with Arcuri and celebrating the beauty of life.
