In 3dmark Steel Nomad, a popular graphic reference, the frame desktop performed 13 percent faster than on the ROG flow Z13. This is also with both systems set at the best activity mode. It is still 32 percent behind the latest generation of desktop GPUs, such as the RTX 5060But that is waiting. The closest comparable discrete GPU is the RTX 4060 laptop. While this is not excited for PC players, remember: these are integrated graphics. The only integrated graphic activity that is approaching is Apple’s side with the M4 pins.
I tried some modern games, such as Cyberpunk 2077 And Marvel rivals, And it was very impressed with how well they did. I surprised myself to find that I can play Cyberpunk 2077 At 1080p and Ultra tunes without any hill yet still reach an average of 84 frames per second. You can easily advent higher resolutions and even radio tracks if you use the AMD image settings or even frame generation. Lighter games like Marvel rivals Play without missing a blow.
The RAM is not removable due to the nature of the chip, although it comes in large options. The base model has 32 GB, while my setting came with 64 GB. There are 128 GB option that is important for everyone who is looking to work with local big language models or other AI projects. The neural processing unit internally is capable of over 50 peaksAnd Framework claims it can operate large language AI models like Llama 3 70B locally in real time, specifically on the 128 GB model, which gives VRAM’s 96 GB GPU 96 GB with whom to work.

Frame laptops have already been pleasant, but the frame desktop is perhaps the most niche product that the company has launched to date. The benefits of choosing the frame desktop over any other desktop there have less in relation to what makes the frame atmosphere so unique. There are even smaller options, such as the Corsair Ai Workstation 300which is slightly higher but not so deep. They have a similar price, although Corsair sells only the higher option with 128 GB of RAM.
On the other hand, the frame desktop is a wonderful middle ground between the compact nature of mini-PC and the performance and upgrade of a true small-shaped computer. I don’t like you can’t update the RAM, and I want the side panels to install it easier. I also have concerns about the CPU inside. While it is doing great, much depends on AMD continues to support this somewhat special component. Frame hasn’t left me so far, but its previous computers have used more standard parts. But now the company has gained some faith from me.
For AI enthusiasts hoping to run local LLMs, the frame desktop is hovering, especially with all available memory. But it is also a decent option for those who want a compact computer that does not completely prohibit performance or update.
