Novak Djokovic is Novak Djokovic and currently ranks second in world tennis. Thanks to a sudden Superman serving (his first service rate was neat 65 years later), coupled with the power covered by the court to return to the craziest shots, he was wild. He has won a 24-game winning streak since defeating Andy Murray in the Australian Open final. The last time that anyone had like this began was Ivan Lendl, 1986. (The year before Djokovic was born).
The most famous lifestyle Serbs in the world (Q. Who is the President of Serbia? A. I am not who I am), Djokovic lives in the Principality of Monaco, where tennis clubs are spectacular, the winters are pleasant, and Mongolian Ques is cool. On the other hand, he was so hot (both in court or in person) that he could only quickly go in and out of his hometown of Belgrade so that his fellow countrymen would not riot him.
We met the finals at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami. His fourth round draw with Serbs (and 2010 Davis Cup teammate) Viktor Troicki was scheduled for the second seed at the Stadium, which was the second round. The delay in rainfall pushed the most coveted ticket of the day to an outside court in the stands. Since everyone wants to see Novak’s action, I will quickly stick to the (wet) concrete perch for six consecutive hours to prevent the door-breaking tribe from replacing me. In each match, the speakers flourish: “Remember that the rain match between Novak Djokovic and Viktor Troicki will be played in the stands, not in the stadium”, which inspires the crying of “Serbia, Serbia, Serbia” (pronunciation (pronunciation)) srrrrb-ya) wrapped by young girl on red, blue and white banners, golden yellow. (When he asked Djokovic at the championship press conference: “Where did you find all the Serbs?” he smiled and said they found him.)
He told me that Djokovic’s best feeling on the tennis court was Serbia’s first ever Davis Cup champion. I was surprised because at his noble level, tennis always noon, Isn’t it? Two duelists, one winner, roll the dice? He said no, there was nothing compared to the Davis Cup. Not winning two Grand Slams instead of “beating top players, Roger, Rafa”. “We are individual athletes, we do everything we do, we do it ourselves,” he said. “But the success you have there, you don’t get yourself. You share it with your people and teammates.”
