The seven leaders’ group confirmed unification support for Israel on Tuesday and called for a resolution of tensions in the Middle East as Tel Aviv held a military strike with Tehran.
“We confirm Israel’s right to defend itself. We reaffirm our support for Israel’s security,” the G7 leader said in a joint statement.
The group condemned Iran as a “main source of regional instability and terror” and reiterated Iran’s position that it would never possess nuclear weapons.
Leaders of the world’s largest developed economies call for a resolution of the “Iran crisis” and “more than the downgrade of hostilities in the Middle East, including a ceasefire in Gaza.”
White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said in an article on X that U.S. President Donald Trump will not be on the second day of the summit.
