‘Gachiakuta’ is Mad as Hell and Ready to Trash Everything

Summer is here, and that means there is a new anime for the season. For the glittering heads, fans of fans of fans are back like And da and And Kaiju n -ro 8,, plus a new show by the name of Gala Falling next month.

Based on Kei Urana’s ongoing Manga, the series stars Rudo Surebec, a teenager living in the slums of the sphere, who comes home to find his adopted dad dead. Accused and found guilty of murder, he is sentenced to the pit, a massive empty place under the city, which is home to criminals and everything else considered garbage of the wealthy class of the sphere. A man named Enjin rescues Rudo and invites him to join the cleaners, a group of people who create weapons from objects they imbu with their power and use them to hunt monsters made of literal garbage.

Rudo joins the cleansers, mainly because he has dreams to return it to avenge the spheres that emptied him to the surface. Gala is developed by Studio Bones who helped My hero academy and its current Vigilists Spinoff, and the contrast between the two glows is so sharp. Rudo is far more angry than Deku, the pivot (and equally fierce social comment) can be enough to attract viewers to see what Bones does with darker material.

Gala Premieres on Sunday, July 6 in Crunchyroll, with respective open and final themes of Paledusk (“Hugs”) and Dustcell (“Tomoshibi”). Global premiere events with previous projects will be held before then on July 4 and 5 in several places, including the United States, Japan and Brazil. You can find the places here.
