Devin Haney calls himself “victim” In an interview today, he spent a lot of time talking about his fight with Ryan Garcia, saying he was “tricked” for testing positive for PEDs.
Haney sounds like he’s trying to use Ryan’s positive test to explain away his defeat, leading fans to believe that’s why he was defeated last April.
It came across like Devin was trying to whitewash his loss to get it out of the minds of fans who sympathized with the “victims” of his cheating controversy. It would be better for him to move on and focus on the fight rather than keep talking about the PED angle. Fans saw Haney play the victim and try to shake off the blame for not standing up to Ryan better.
I just want to know what Honey summons His excuse would be if he loses his two fights in 2025 to Jose Ramirez in May and Ryan Garcia in October. Will Devon accept the blame, or find out why he was beaten?
Haney’s pursuit of greatness
Haney said he wanted to show the boxing world “how great” he is, which is interesting because even before losing to Garcia, he was never considered “great.” Devin’s victory over Vasily Lomachenko was controversial in the eyes of many fans, who considered it a robbery. Haney looked just as bad, stumbling multiple times against 35-year-old Jorge Linares on May 29, 2021.
Devin’s best career wins:
– King Program: 35
– George Kambosos Jr. x 2
– Jorge Linares: 35
– Vasily Lomachenko: *Controversial

If you take away Haney’s questionable victory over Lomachenko, his resume is thin without any quality wins. You can’t consider Kambosos a great fighter because he was just an average boxer until he beat Teofimo Lopez.
Kambosos has a record of 1 win and 3 losses in the last four games. Should be 0-4 as his one win in the last three years was a controversial 12 round majority decision over Maxi Hughes.
“I want to continue to show the world how great I am and turn non-believers into believers,” said Devin Haney. Ring Magazine Podcast. “They wanted to see if I was the same. After being scammed, I was left with a question mark.
“They want to see if I’m the same Devin or a better Devin. He (Ryan) has question marks as well. The world wants to see if he’s still the same after he comes off the PEDs. In my experience, as someone who was Victims of cheating, know how important it is to stay clean in that ring and stay clean on a level playing field.
“I want to be an advocate for athlete integrity in general, especially in boxing. We’re there to take punishment. When you see a guy (Ryan Garcia) cheat and get suspended, what a great time it is (to show stance) Ah. This is the biggest moment in boxing and I think there’s never been a better time than now,” Haney said.
