According to Director Gareth Edwards, who made his share of Great movies like Rogue One And GodzillaIt would usually take two and a half years since he, the director, would be hired until the film is released in theaters. But, when it comes to Jurassic World Rebirth, The process was anything but normal.
Edwards was employed into the film in February 2024And now, in July 2025, the film is presented for release. It is a senseless, superhuman timeline for a movie of this size, one that Edwards both tried to fight but ultimately had to embrace. “I knew basically on July 4, a weekend, for which they were acting,” Edwards told something9 about a video chat. “And I thought,” that’s just something they say, “and then they’ll push it. And at the first meeting, I raised my hand and they look like,” Gareth backwards. “And I like,” Yes, can we push the release date? “And they look like, ‘No, next question.’ We just weren’t right.
So that meant that Edwards would have to do Jurassic Park Movie in, basically, a little over a year. “My editor, Jabez (Olssen), put a quote on the main door of the Suite edit,” Edwards continued. “And it was by Leonard Bernstein, and it just said,” Art is when you have a plan and not enough time. “And it felt that a strange thing had happened where you couldn’t take a second, or anyone else.
After being hired in February, shooting began in June, and by December they had a rough cut. “Basically, when we made the director’s cut and we projected that at Universal, you look at the timeline in front of us and were like,” We only have two weeks to make notes. “So there can’t be much to say,” Edwards said. “And they gave us this feedback, and we did it, and everyone was happy. And that was the movie. It was such a strange straight process. And I think the reason is because it started with the script David Koepp, who wrote the original Jurassic Park, had written. Everyone showed that going, ‘go do that; That’s what we want. ‘And so it was just a relatively smooth ride, to be honest. ”
