Artur Beterbiev expressed his frustration on social media yesterday about the delay strategy used by Unified Lightweight Champion Dmitry Bivol in the trilogy competition. The former uncontroversial 175-pound champion Beterbiev (21-1, 20 KO) questioned whether Bivol was postponing the fight to age him, which allowed him to beat.
Bivol’s Choice: Money Struggles in the Trilogy
Beterbiev, 40, failed to see that Bivol (24-1, 12 KOS) appears to be in hold mode, waiting for the results of Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford in the September 13 “War of the Century”.
If Dmitry wins, he has a good chance of fighting Canelo in the game. Bivol has beaten the Mexican Stars in 2022. Alvarez said he was willing to play a rematch. If Turki Alalshikh offers enough money for Omaha in Nebraska, then even Crawford is an option for Bivol. Terence knew his chances of winning would be small, but if Turki offered him $60 million in battle, he wouldn’t say no to Bivol’s fight.
Financially speaking, waiting for Canelo-Crawford’s results to get a payday bigger than the hard trilogy match he’s likely to lose with the 100% healthy Beterbiev, in Bivol’s best interest.
Looking at the 12th round of the second battle last February, Artur was on the verge of being knocked down there, you can understand why Dmitry would rather drag on the trilogy and headed towards a more profitable payday with whom he was the winner of Alvarez vs. Bud Bud Bud Bud Crawford Bout.

Beterbiev requires BIVOL reality check
Bivol can also earn more by waiting for the results of the Canelo-Crawford championship with the delay risk Beterbiev. Bivol’s Golden Pot would be huge compared to the third battle with Artur, and if Beterbiev was 100% healthy he might lose that.
Bivol will eventually fight Beterbiev in a year or two, but by then he will be 41 or 42 years old, threatening to defeat him less than he is now.
