Cruz vs. Mattias: Title?

Matias recently defeated WBC 140-pound champion Alberto Puello in his 12-round majority decision in Queens on July 12 as the new belt holder. However, Turki Alalshikh has announced that Matias will resist WBC competitor Dalton Smith in November. So leaving Pitbull Cruz and having to wait until 2026 to have the chance to fight the winner of the battle against Smith.

Pitbull’s Zepeda-like style

Cruz (28-3-1, 18 kos) looks like a smaller, smaller version William ZepedaSub salcido (20-3, 14 KO) dominated by high output. The scores are 100-88, 99-89 and 99-89. Pitbull’s battle is much like Zepeda, but not as skilled as him, and he doesn’t have the same output.

The Pitts are very strong considering the level of his opponent. Cruz doesn’t have to deal with his Kryptonite, pure boxer, like we saw in the loss to Jose’Rayo’ Valenzuela last August.

Rayo made Cruz look bad, boxed him all night and got his fist out effortlessly. If Pitbull wants to avenge the loss, it would be a good time to fight Rayo, as he won’t win him anytime soon for a title he’s seeking for Matias.

Cruz: “I am the world champion”

“Now, I can say I’m the world champion.” media The WBC second-and-time welterweight title was captured last Saturday night after beating replacement opponent Omar Salcido.

“It will be where people are expecting Mexico to compete with Puerto Rico,” said Pitbull Cruz. “I’m sure it will be a battle that fans will love and a competition that everyone enjoys.”
