Israel has ordered Palestinians to evacuate parts of northern Gaza before adding military operations as U.S. President Donald Trump pushes for a ceasefire agreement.
Israeli military operations “strengthen and expand westward”, with people in the Gaza city and Jabbaria communities being told to move southward towards southward.
Hamas – The Ministry of Operations and Health said at least 86 people were killed in the 24 hours at noon Sunday due to the Israeli attack.
Their parents said three of the three children were killed during the strike, what Elma Vassi called a “safe zone”.
Trump reiterated calls for “Gaza to reach a deal” and “restore hostages” on Sunday.
On Saturday, Trump told the Truth Society that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is in talks with Hamas “immediately”.
Meanwhile, IDF spokesman Avicay Adraee said on Sunday that the Israeli military’s operations in Northern Gaza “eliminate terrorists and terrorist infrastructure.”
Medical staff and residents told Reuters that military bombings in Gaza increased in the early hours of Sunday, destroying several homes.
Gaza’s Hamas civil defense agency told news media that at least 23 people were killed on Sunday alone.
Medical staff said five people were killed in an air strike in Israel, a tent house located in a displaced person in Al-Mawasi near the southern city of Khan Yunis, an area where northerners were told to evacuate.
Five members of the Maarouf family, including three children, were killed.
“They bombed us while we were sleeping on the ground,” said their mother, Iman Abu Maarouf. “We did nothing wrong. My child was killed and the rest was in intensive care.”
Their father, Zeyad Abu Maarouf, told Reuters that the family arrived at the “safety zone” a month ago after Israel told them to go to Al-Mawasi.
The BBC has contacted the Israeli military for comment.
Military operations will be increased as mediators begin new efforts to end the war and release hostages held by Hamas.
On Thursday, senior Hamas officials told BBC mediators stepped up their efforts to launch a new ceasefire and hostage release agreement in Gaza, but negotiations with Israel remained stagnant.
The Kathari mediator said they hope our pressure will help reach a deal as the armistice between Israel and Iran ended the 12-day conflict between the two countries.
Trump has previously said he hopes to agree to a ceasefire in Gaza next week.
A two-month ceasefire collapsed in March when Israel launched a new strike in Gaza. It said it wanted to put pressure on Hamas to release its hostages.
Israel also imposed a lockdown on the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza people in early March, which it partially eased 11 weeks after pressure from U.S. allies and warnings from global experts and believed that half a million people were facing hunger.
After Israel accused Hamas of stealing aid, partly the ease was the establishment of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), a supported aid organization supported by the United States and Israel. Hamas denied this.
United Nations agencies condemn the GHF’s assistance system. Killings and help-seeking killings have occurred repeatedly.

On Sunday, the Israeli court accepted a request from the Israeli Prime Minister for a week’s scheduled testimony delayed due to diplomatic and security issues.
Netanyahu was charged with bribery, fraud and breach of trust in 2019, and he denied all of this.
