Joanna “Jojo” Levesque constantly working to navigate “life’s setbacks.”
“I don’t know who I would be if it wasn’t for my family and my friends who became family, but I definitely had my ups and downs,” Jojo, 34, 34, 34, 34, 34, 34, 34 , 34, 34, exclusively spoken US WEEK on Thursday, January 23, while promoting him Mr EP. “I thought that I would never be my parents, who I judged at a certain point were too fiercely struggling with their own addictions.”
He added, “Then I found myself like, ‘Oh, because it doesn’t show up like this, I’m acting like an addict this way.’ I only do things that affect my life and the lives of others, and I have to check myself many times.”
Jojo further explains that after learning that addiction can manifest in different ways, he checks himself “constantly” to become the healthiest version of himself.
“I think there are tendencies that I have where I need to learn,” the singer told us. “So, that’s why there are different practices in place. I’m not being mean, but (I’m going through) periods of (non-drinking)like, I’m dry in January or I don’t drink while I’m on tour. I don’t like over-fixing in general, and I’m grateful for that. I’m on the other side of wanting to be out of my mind. I don’t want to think about it anymore. “
He added, “I’m learning one day at a time.”
Jojo detailed his experiences drinking the his 2024 memoir, In influence. In the book, he revealed that his parents, who were addicts, met the alcoholic anonymously before their rocky relationship that eventually ended in divorce. Meanwhile, Jojo revealed that he also struggled with alcohol abuse, in addition to what he said was an addiction to love, sex and validation.

US WEEK“I was in a complete addiction to love and validation, sex and stimulation,” she wrote. In his memoirssaying that he had previously cheated on a previous partner. “I fed my addiction and wasted my time before my man told me that I was the worst person in the world. The understanding of sabotage flew, and I responded athletically. I explained, at this point what I am if not a sucker for self-betrayal and over-beating? Anyway, I’m convinced it doesn’t matter.”
While talking usJojo says he has no “regrets” about Character Acquisition and Weakness on In influence.
“This is my story and, look, if I write it a year from now or five years from now, will I tell different stories? Maybe, (or) in a different way,” he said on Thursday. “But this is the story.”
Jojo puts her past struggles behind her to embrace a positive, healthy relationship with a new partner.
“That’s what my song ‘ready to love’ is all about. I’m like, ‘I want to make space in my life for someone who’s ready to love and ready to be vulnerable and responsible and have fun and grow and grow of all things,’ “Jojo said. “I think it’s been a long time since I’ve found myself enough to say yes to things that really feel like yes and can’t let go of things that aren’t right for me and also show up, but a safe space for to someone (and) be a safe space for myself first.”
He added, “I think that this is a beautiful time in my life where I feel more present and ready for the things that are meant for me.”
“Ready for Love” is one of the songs on Jojo’s EP Mrwhich falls on Friday, January 24.
“I can’t believe it’s been four years since my other EP and it’s about ownership and empowerment,” Jojo said. US. “This is my first independent release and this album is about being alone and moving to a new city and feeling stronger and more confident in my own skin than ever.”
