Back in 2020, My colleague Scott Gilbertson tried the Joybird Eliot Sofa. And he hated it. Since then, the Joybird Eliot was the only choice in the “Avoid” section Purchase Guide. When Joybird explained explaining that it renewed the Eliot (and its customer service – more about it later), I was skeptical of trying it. But I did it for you, a reader, and I am happy to report that after three months of testing, this improved sofa earns a passing degree in my book.

Every joybird Eliot sofa is a common, custom affair. The Eliot is available in several styles and settings. I chose to try the sleepy sofa, because I was in the hunt for a good couch with a built -in bed for our shopping guide. Joybird sent me a swatch -kit full of delightful little fabric squares in a rainbow of colors. (Customers can also get this gear for free.) There are almost 80 different fabrics to choose from, including pet options and abundant velvet issues. Some of these fabrics add upload.
After screening the exchanges for a few days, I chose the Royale Berry, a lasting and feather pink velvet, which was labeled pet-friendly and spotted. The mattress had two options-standard or time-response memory foams (yes, Of Tempur-Pedic). The site has helpful tools like AR view, plus specific dimensions, so you can measure your space or for delivery.
There are some benefits and some disadvantages to this process. Because the sofas are tailored, the manufacturing process can take weeks. But on the positive side, these sofas come with an in-person white glove delivery, where a team will enter and put your new sofa wherever it needs to be. This adds an additional fee that varies in prices depending on where you deliver the couch. Once the couch is ready, you can set a delivery date. Make sure the area where your sofa will live is clear, and the team will handle the rest. Delivery from my couch took less than 10 minutes, and the team took the packaging materials with them.
The couch looked even better than I had anticipated, with well -built pillows and even stretching. It has two seat pillows and two rear pillows, with an extracted couch bed. I like the modern style of the mid-century that matches well with the rest of my house, and the hot, berry-pink velvet fabric is a soft and feather touch. It is also lasting and stained resistant, and it holds well to multiple spills. I love the way it looks in my apartment, and I had a lot of householders say the same thing.
From sitting to sleeping

One of Scott’s biggest complaints about this sofa was an unequal filling distribution that Joybird has since reissued. The company said it redesigned the angular blocks, adjusted cushioning, and worked with the supplier to improve the tufted buttons. Some specific Eliot models have acquired additional retorts, as an added support beam. My couch even filled distribution, and although I am the kind of man who sits in the same place on the couch for hours every day (I usually work out of the living room), mine supported and remains comfortable to sit. It’s a little on the firm side I like in my sofas-I don’t get that sinking, fastened feeling I have with some previous sofas I tested.
