Kentucky police investigates Baptist church shooting, soldier injured

Authorities in Kentucky are investigating the shooting of a suspected criminal suspect who was allegedly injured in a Baptist church.

The Kentucky State Police (KSP) said in a statement about X that it is investigating the Fayette County shooting that occurred at 11:36 a.m. Sunday.

The suspect currently dead allegedly fled to Richmond Road Baptist Church in Lexington. The shooting began at a different location than the church.

“The suspect shot a soldier and fled the scene and finally arrived Richmond Road Baptist Church The Post said that at that time KSP and the Lexington Police Department… were able to secure the suspects. ”

“At present, we can confirm that the soldiers are undergoing medical care,” police added. “There are multiple victims in the church and EMS is on the scene. The suspect is dead.”

Gov. Andy Beshear posted a post about the shooting on X, asking everyone to pray for the victims.

“Pray for everyone affected by these meaningless violence, and let us thank the Lexington Police Department and Kentucky Police for their quick response,” the governor wrote.

“Details are still coming, and we will share more.”
