Hot with the collection he co-designed Pharrell for Louis Vuitton,,,, Good luck reveal his own collaboration Kenzo this Autumn and winter 2025 season. Bromances highs up at Paris Fashion Week as black brother joins forces with long-time friend, FuturaHe has known him since the 90s. The New York graffiti legend lends his signature calligraphy style to Kenzo’s legacy patterns and brings a touch of New York streets to luxury homes.
Kuroko pre-show: “I first met Futura in Tokyo in 1996. I was a huge fan. The first time I met him, he was wearing one of my designs. I made it with a detachable half sleeve That’s when we started communicating. So I went to New York a lot to see him, and he also came to Japan to meet me.” Futura joined the audience tonight, where he collaborated with Nigo. Futura redesigned the Kenzo Flower with his signature calligraphy, also incorporating his popular Atomic logo, which can be seen on jackets, bombers and wide-leg pants. A graffiti-shaped spray effect makes various iterations of the modern Kenzo Flower effective for kimono collars. Futura Restyles Kenzo’s branding appears on accessories such as shopping bags, bouquet packaging, beer bottle holders and baguettes using its own font. Nigo brought these special elements to the light because he remembered seeing people carrying these assortments throughout New York in the 90s. He also recalls Futura using the word “fragile” in the world on shirts he designed in 1990, which he now incorporates into the signature label of these pieces.
There are strong cultural ties between the two places, informed by Nigo and Futura’s own relationship with this collection. Designed as a commuter collection, the men’s collection takes shape on futuristic high-speed journeys from Tohoku to Tokyo to Paris. The knitted trim is inspired by vintage Japanese Pachinko Parlor machines. Nigo collaborated with Kenzo itself using graphics of views of Mount Fuji and Mount Paris, which were inspired by the Fall 1998 Oriental Express. Kenzo weave patterns remain a staple in the collection, serving as denim patterns and jacquards. Split between Japan and Paris, the collection draws from his personal experiences while celebrating a lifelong creative partnership and friendship with Futura, leading Kenzo to create a refreshed look for the new season.
