University of Maryland students received encouraging words at this year’s graduation ceremony for graduate Kermit The Frog. Kermit’s last speech by the frog was in a class that graduated from Southampton College in 1996. Jim Henson, the creator of the beloved frog, graduated from the University of Maryland in 1960. Today, he is commemorated with Kermit in a bronze statue outside the university student union.
