This fall, the Phoenix Suns’ roster will be very different.
A few days before the 2025 NBA Draft, report Trade involving Kevin Durant Surfaced. ESPN reported on Sunday that the deal is expected to bring the two-time NBA champion to the Houston Rockets.
Rocket Ranked 10th in the draft and selected Khaman Maluach on Wednesday. The former Duke distinguished was later sent to Phoenix as part of the player and draft pick included in the Durant trade, ESPN said.

Maluach is a member of the South Sudan national basketball team Paris Olympics. Before landing in Durham, North Carolina, Maluch played at the NBA academy in Africa. He is now the highest-starter player in the academy.
“I am here to represent the entire continent,” Maluach told ESPN Moment after walking through the draft stage, shaking hands at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.
“Living in Africa, I carry the whole continent on my back, bringing hope to children and inspiring them to the next generation of African basketball.”

In his only season, Maluch averaged 8.6 points, 6.6 rebounds and 1.3 blocks per game. In Duke. He played 39 games for the Blue Devils, who entered the last four games in April.

Maluach wore the Rockets caps in the draft because what he included was reportedly not officially traded yet. Maluach wore a sun hat at a press conference after being selected. He expressed excitement about his excitement to head to Arizona.
“I’m happy to wear a Phoenix jersey with my name and ‘Maluach’ at the back,” he told reporters. “I’m happy to be able to play for the sun and step on the floor.”
