The foundation aims to use golf to support young women around the world.
“My foundation has been nearly 20 years now and it’s all about providing competition opportunities, empowering young women and promoting young women through the sport,” Sorenstam told Fox News Digital in a recent interview. “There are different initiatives, tournament plans, resources, mentoring, scholarships, etc., so we have some clinics in the area that invite young girls to attend, which is great.
“We have about 1,000 girls a year and we have donated nearly $10 million to girls golf. I’ll push this foundation wherever I go, and it’s great to have young girls take a club or keep playing.”
Sorenstein said she looks forward to participating in the competition every year.
She is the former runner-up NHL Star Jeremy Roenick won the game for the second time in 2014 for former NFL quarterback Mark Rypien.

“I get excited every year. I try every year. These guys are getting harder to beat, but there’s no doubt that this is the highlight of the summer,” Sorenstein said. “That time of the year, games, games, atmosphere, everything, players, it’s a really cool event. So there’s family and friends there and there’s a lot of reasons to like it.”
Mardy Fish, Stephen Curry, Tony Romo and Vinny del Negro have been the latest champions of the tournament.
“It’s amazing,” Sorenstam said, “How great are some athletes who are not professional golfers in the game.”
“Well, you know, a lot of them are half of mine, I’m twice as big. They’re great athletes. Now I’m used to it, what can I say.” “But from the beginning, I’m like, wow, you know. But, it’s amazing. They hit a lot more than I did. They hit it and it’s not always straightforward, but many of them do it.”
“In the end, it makes it very exciting, but to add some pressure, I always tell my husband, and I say, ‘Mike, I don’t think you can throw me on the football field or any basketball field and start shooting threes.” I just think they are great. ”
