As violent protests break out Los Angeles, California.

“These riots are totally unnecessary,” Gibson told Fox News figures. “We don’t have to go this time to see cars burning, businesses robbed, and livelihoods being destroyed. All of this can be avoided.”

Gipson pointed his finger directly at the California state government. Gavin Newsom, He was blamed for failing to deploy the National Guard in time to prevent chaos.

“Newsom was reactionary, not facilitated,” he said. “If he had called the National Guard earlier, we would have saved billions of dollars in insurance claims and protected our small businesses.”

The protests began as demonstrations against immigration and customs enforcement (ICE), escalating to street violence and theft. For many conservatives, the protests highlight the consequences of the state’s left-leaning approach to progressive criminal justice reform and immigration.

“Ice is here to enforce federal laws. If we can’t enforce federal laws in the state, what’s the impact on us?” he asked.

Gibson also claimed that Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass was unable to act independently, indicating that she had been lined up from Newsom.

“I know Karen Bass did go in and say, ‘This is not the way to protest.’ They want to protest peacefully, but it’s not what we have,” Gipson said. “She is getting instructions from Sacramento and Gavin Newsom. If she gets better leadership from him, I think we’ll be much better now.”

Newsom tries to blame the president Donald Trump His words accelerated the conflict in an attempt to escalate the protests, claiming they were peaceful demonstrations before the National Guard.

“Gavin Newsom didn’t deal with California,” he said. “If he said, ‘(President) Trump, can you come and help us prepare for it? I think he (Trump) will help.

“Newsom is clearly preparing for his game in 2028, and he will blame Trump and say Trump hasn’t done his job.”

In his opinion, the consequences of what Gipson calls “soft crime” policy make the unrest more complicated. He cited countries that the state did not fund correctly Proposition 36This is a radical policy to curb Proposition 47 in an overwhelming way in 2024, a testament to Sacramento’s disregard for public safety.

“Gavin Newsom is not funding fund No. 36. Store owners can’t even follow criminals,” Gibson said. “They are worried that bricks will fly around their windows. ”

Reflecting on his experience as a former sheriff’s deputy, Gipson said Los Angeles’ law enforcement morale was horrible.

“Law enforcement can’t get the job done,” he said. “Literally, officials are afraid to do their jobs because they don’t want to go to jail for training. Without the support of the news, Bass doesn’t.”

“They were handcuffed,” he added.

“For more than a decade, Gavin Newsom has not been protected law enforcement in California. They were awarded, slandered and depressed. Now they are waiting. They hesitate. People get hurt when you’re hesitant to work. ”

Gipson also accused the bureaucratic chain of command that paralyzed the law enforcement at a critical moment.

“The Sheriff answered the Supervisory Board. The LAPD chief responded to the mayor. The violence continued when they could not arrest people immediately,” he said.

Gibson believes the solution is simple: the consequences.

Newsom’s office said in a statement to Fox News Digital that the Trump administration “has not even used other resources available to clean up their chaos.”

“Let’s be clear: National Guard is not needed in Los Angeles. State and local law enforcement are responding, and federal agencies are not even using the additional resources available to clean up their chaos. The basic misunderstanding of requiring troops to handle the protests shows a basic misunderstanding of how public safety works – which is shocking for those who once had a badge.”

Fox News Digital contacted Bass’ office for comment.
