Flash floods hit Texas hills, killing more than 100 people, and killed in New Mexico after monsoon rains caused flash flooding.

A man and two young children, a 4-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy, were swept away by floods on Tuesday, Rudoso Village said in a statement. In popular summer resorts, this is so severe that the entire house was knocked downstream.

Rio Ruidoso rose to a record 20 feet, five feet taller than previous records, the village said.

“First responders conducted 50-60 Swift-Water rescues during the event,” said a village in Ruidoso Media Village.

“Tonight, I signed an emergency declaration request to get the federal response team immediately and repair resources. We encourage us to learn that additional federal resources are already on the way.” New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham said on Facebook.
