Margos Bag Review: Everything About the Bag

You wear bags, and some bags, and you live in their atmosphere. There is no doubt that the bank’s Margaux bag fell into the latter camp. I walked into fantasy in the course of the day wearing Margaux 15 from Taupe Graining Calfskin. The initial test run has turned into something closer to romantic entanglement (or at least the fashion editor equivalent to one). Not every day there is a bag that changes the speed of the entire closet and retouches the way you walk through the closet. Again, this business is not engaged in any business that does anything casually.

For the most part, I’m not easily attracted to social media hype, leading me to believe I need to buy it. I’ve looped enough to find the difference between instantaneous hype and long-term investment. But, honestly, there is something special about Margox. Despite the absence of obvious brands and obvious logos (no need to be noted!), the outline has become a visual shorthand for a very specific person who understands luxury as a restraining language.

“How quiet it’s really what makes Margaux special,” explains Kimberly Bickle, Fashion Piece merchandise manager. “You don’t see any large logo or flashy hardware; it’s all about shape, material and craftsmanship. The design feels really architectural, but it’s still soft and relaxing, which is a hard balance right. Every detail is very intentional from the curved sides to the hand-painted edges.”

Margaux launched in 2018 and is the bank’s answer to the question, what does the handbag look like when it’s all self-deprived? At first it didn’t make much noise, but soon every fashion insider was under the elbow bend.

“The rise of Margaux feels like a perfect storm of timing, aesthetics and influencer appeal. Everyone tends to be low-key, logo-free fragments, signals without too much effort, and Margaux can basically check every box,” explains Becle. “Since its release a few years ago, it’s hard to underestimate the impact of the bag on the luxury space.” She added: “It’s very few, but not boring, delicate but still suitable for daily wear, and its photos are so beautiful, which is huge for social media.”

The Margaux comes in four core sizes: 10-inch, 12-inch, 15-inch and 17-inch profiles. (There is also a love from insiders in the East and West.) Most style choices choose 12-inch and 15-inch bags, and although difficult to get, bags on both ends of the spectrum are still very popular. The Margaux I chose was the Margaux 15 and every girl had a classic look.

The row’s Margaux bag is defined by its iconic trapezoidal shape, extended top handle sheet, internal fastening wings and top label closure. The whole bag is a nod to Doctor’s Go Bag, although it’s an overhead sleek version. The strap is 47 inches, and in my opinion it sits better on the top tote or elbow bag rather than throwing on the shoulder.

Materials vary depending on season and availability, but leather and suede are the most common versions. “The suede version is probably the most luxurious, it’s very soft and can give this really rich, texture feel. But it’s also the most refined, so if you’re tough on the bag, maybe not the best,” Bickel said. I chose the cereal calf leather, which is durable, easy and perfect for tilting without worrying about scratching it. “The leather style feels more structured and timeless. They are very nice in shape and are super versatile,” she explained. “The canvas version is the most laid-back. It’s lightweight and still lined with leather, usually with contrasting leather trim, giving it a cool, relaxing atmosphere.”

How to pack a Margao bag for a marga bag

At this point, Margaux bags are decorated with almost everything – black pants and crisp ferries, oversized knits, vintage denim, toned linens, and more. I designed a simple, non-functional outfit for the Margaux 15 using black backless and airy linen pants. Margaux is the anchor. It even makes a simple dress look done without overestimating it. That’s the magic of doing things: you look like tasteunlike you want to show it off.

How much does Margaux bag cost in this bank?

Prices range from about $3,200 in smaller size canvas to $6,400+ in larger calf versions. That is, availability is inconsistent. The bank famously discarded a small amount, replenished it very little, and did not meet the urgency of e-commerce. There is no “notify me” button – you either grab it or you don’t.

As a result, a booming resale market emerged. “Row Margaux has performed very well in the resale market, usually selling for about 40% above retail, which is impressive compared to many other luxury tote bags,” Bickle noted. “Demand is steepering (on fashion businesses) with resale prices up about 44% and search interest rising. Rumors about it being discontinued made the bag more unique and attracted the interests of buyers. Overall, it has become increasingly powerful in the secondary market.”

However, if you want a used car, don’t forget to pass a verified, verified resale site like Fashionphile. With the rise of hype and the rise of fake bags, although it is best to go directly to the source, this is not always feasible given the limited production of the bank.

“When checking a Margaux, first feel the leather or suede. It should be super soft and high-quality, never stiff or fake looking. The stitching is always neat and even with no loose threads. Hardware is matte or brushed metal and feels solid, not cheap or shiny. Inside, you’ll find a smooth leather lining with a subtle, clean logo stamp,” Bickle says, nodding to the authentication tells to make sure you’re getting the real deal. “In addition, the edges are perfect, without the chaotic spots. The bag should feel light, but still have a soft, sculpted shape.”
