
U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan, D-Mass. This week she tore up her Republican colleagues, saying they politicized the controversial issues of trans athletes competing with girls and women.
The Massachusetts Interschool Athletic Association is one of at least three state athletic organizations, although President Donald Trump’s recent executive order prohibits them from doing so.

Trahan said she had not heard strong protests from her state parents, adding that she believed the issue should depend on each individual sports agency, not on politicians.
“They are experts. They are committed to sports and have fair, responsible rules for participation. Many of them have implemented changes to ensure fairness and safety,” she said.
“I think this is where the decision should be made, but that doesn’t stop my Republican colleagues from using weapons to the issue and thus have a big impact.”
