Mastodon, the Open Source, a decentralized social network offering an alternative to Elon Musk’s X and Meta threads, are Rolling Several updates with Tuesday release from Mastodon 4.4. Most notably, the app will take the first steps to the implementation of a change, which will bring it simultaneously with other networks of its type, but may also affect the behavior of a user: it is preparing to add quotes, or as Twitter used to call quotes.

With Mastodon 4.4, quoted posts are not yet fully invented.

Mastodon’s media toy in 4.4 has been updated with a new design, where gameplay and break buttons are more centrally located and easier to click. More screws were also added, as left and right arrows to jump around, up and down arrows for volume control, “M” for mute, and “F” for screen.
On a cellphone, you can double tap photos to zoom or pinch with your fingers to control the zoom level. To close the zoom image, you can slide, just like your native photo program. There is also a new recollection to add a high-text to images, which helps vision people better use the application.
Meanwhile, the mobile website is now closer to imitating native mobile programs with action buttons in lower toolbar and other changes that make navigation more consistent through platforms.
Elsewhere, the “explore” section was renamed “Trend”, and the side navigation controls were organized into three sections – one for the main navigation buttons, another for your commissioned content (such as lists, bookmarks and favors), and a third for other elements.
