Pearl Jam Member Matt Cameron announced that he will leave the band after 27 years as a drummer.
“After 27 years of history, I have taken the last step to drumming for the powerful pearl jam. The love and respect for Jeff, Ed, Mike, Mike and Stone invited me to the band in 1998 and provided me with a lifetime opportunity filled with friendship, artistry, artistry, challenges, challenges and laughter.
“I’m forever grateful to the crew, staff and fans around the world. It’s an incredible journey. And more to follow. I thank everyone from the people in my heart.”

The rest of the Pearl Jam, Eddie Vedder, Stone Gossard, Mike McCready and Jeff Ament made their own statements and thanked Cameron for his commitment to the band for nearly three decades.

“From being the first music heroes in the band Skinyard and Mighty Soundgarden to playing in our first demo in 1990, Matt Cameron has been a unique and true powerhouse for musicians and drummers.
“I’m forever grateful to the crew, staff and fans around the world. It’s an incredible journey. There’s more. I’ve posted everyone from the bottom of my heart.”

“He has pushed for Pearl Jam live performances and studio recordings over the past 27 years. This is a very important chapter for our team and we hope he will always be good. He will miss him deeply and will always be a friend of our art and music. We love you Matt,” their statement reads.
