Recent annual cleanup in Colorado Ski resort As staff discovered everything from outdated technology to hamburgers, it turned into treasure hunts.
Earlier this summer, the Breckenridge Ski Resort in Breckenridge, Colorado announced that its employees have teamed up to remove up to 780 pounds of garbage.
Most of the trash comes from customers who accidentally throw things off the ski lift. The resort said the job required 150 employees and produced some abnormal findings.
The strangest discovery was a message in the bottle that caused some speculation about what might be included.
A spokesperson for Breckenridge ski resort told KDVR that it was not a romantic love letter for decades. It’s actually just an ancient one COVID-19 vaccination card.

Staff also found cracked iPhones and iPod nanos, as well as Canadian dollars of $2.

As expected, many empty bottles and general garbage appeared during the cleaning.
Max Winter, senior communications manager at the resort, told Fox News in late July that surprisingly — staff favorite findings didn’t make the effort to video.

Although many items are garbage, Winter notes that most of the 780-pound weight is made up of larger items that are recycled or upgraded.
“In some rare cases, we were able to reunite with our former owners,” he recalled.

The effort, called “Mountain Cleaning Day,” is one of the employees’ favorite annual events, a spokesperson added.
