To help creators maintain visibility and coverage, Meta recommends focusing on original content, avoiding third-party watermarks and making extensive edits when using material from other sources. The company notes that basic stitching or watermarking is not a meaningful shift.

Meta’s crackdown is more than just removing spam. It directly affects the ranking, display and monetization of content. For creators, especially smaller creators who are trying to expand their audience, originality now plays a bigger role than ever before. If your content is marked as non-original or spam, Facebook may stop showing it in people’s feeds. This can fuel your reach and in some cases cut off access to monetization tools (such as streaming through ads or reward programs).

How to avoid penalties based on Meta’s new content rules
To prevent Meta from tagging or deleting your Facebook account under its new policy, especially if you are a creator or posting content regularly, follow these key steps:
1. Publish original content. Share what you create, whether it’s photos, videos, text or anything else. Meta is more likely to punish accounts that rely primarily on re-dependent or recycled materials.
2. If you reuse content, please convert it. If you want to share content from others (permitted or fairly used), add actual value. Think of a response to changing context or experience video, dubbing, commenting or editing. Just splicing the clips together or slapping them on the watermark won’t cut it.
3. Avoid imitation and spam strategies. Don’t pretend to be another creator or brand, don’t rely on engagement baits (such as spam comment sections or duplicate hashtags). Meta is actively deleting accounts involved in fake interactions.
4. Avoid using visible third-party watermarks. If your video shows clear signs of recycling from another application, such as Tiktok Watermark, Meta may tag it. Upload the clean version on brands without a logo or other platform.
