Twelve Turkish soldiers died after being exposed to methane gasoline while searching for a cave in Iraq, the Turkish Ministry of Defense said.
At least 19 people were exposed to gasoline and rushed to the hospital during Sunday’s search and removal surgery.
By Monday, 12 soldiers died.
Forces are searching for the body of a soldier who was killed in a gunfire in May 2022.
