Mexican president asks ICE to avoid law enforcement in Golden Cup football matches

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum sent us a message Immigration Forces In Los Angeles, fans of the Golden Cup football match against the Dominican Republic on Saturday demanded grace.

“We do not believe there will be any (immigration) action in any football game…We call on us to take no action Immigration and Customs Enforcement,” Sheinbaum said in a press conference on Friday.

“Mexico will always promote peace,” she added.

The now-deleted social media post from the U.S. Customs and Border Protection said the promise will be “fit and start” in the first round of the World Cup football match this week.

In response to its social media posts, CBP said it regularly provides security in major sports events.

“Our customs and border protection is committed to working with our local and federal partners to ensure that FIFA Club World Cup 25 is safe for everyone involved, just like we did in every major sporting event, including the Super Bowl. Our mission remains the same.”

Several convicted criminals arrested on Monday and Tuesday in Los Angeles were arrested, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) announced.
