French ai -start Mistral are in talks to raise up to $ 1 billion in investor equity including Abu Dhabi’s MG. Bloombergciting people familiar with the matter.
Mistral also speaks with French lenders as BPifrance Saca to earn hundreds of millions of euros in debt, according to Bloomberg. Techcrunch reached Mistral for comment.
Mistral, Manufacturers of the Le Chat Chat, is one of the most significant players in the European AI landscape with a focus on open weight Llms. The startup raised $ 1.19 billion so far at $ 6.51 billion after-money rating, according to Pitchbook. Its last fundraising was series B in June 2024.
Mistral is already working with a $ 100 billion AI Fund and NVIDIA to build Europe’s largest AI data center. UAE was also committed to spending € 50 billion in AI projects in France, part of the push of French President Emmanuel Macron for AI sovereignty.
