The National Guard troops were deployed on the streets of Los Angeles on Sunday when the Trump government made a tough line to suppress protests against raids against alleged illegal immigrants.
The step by President Donald Trump on Saturday using a rarely professional law to suppress invasions and rebellions was sentenced to “inflammatory” by the state’s governor Gavino Newsom.
After two days of unrest in the second largest US city, which was prompted by federal agents, the dozens of people arrest in a way back to local companies. Further protests were planned for Sunday afternoon.
The use will test the ability to withstand strongly democratic states, to resist the Trump government and to protect its citizens from their enforcement measures.
At the weekend, the law enforcement officers met with hundreds of demonstrators, in some cases in which rubber balls were fired and flash-bang grenades were used.
In the late Saturday, however, the leaders of California said that the situation had been brought under control and that support from the federal forces was not necessary.
“The Federal Government takes over the California National Guard and hires 2,000 soldiers in Los Angeles – not because there is a lack of law enforcement authorities, but because they want a spectacle,” said Newsom on Saturday and added: “Do not give it.”
On Saturday evening, Defense Minister Pete Hegseth put on the threat of California, a natural sanctuary for undocumented immigrants, by warning that the Trump government could mobilize in the active service near San Diego. Newsom called the move “Deranged”.
House Speaker and Trump Ally Mike Johnson defended the threat and told ABC News: “We have to be ready to do what is necessary, and I think that the announcement that this could happen could have the deterrent effect.”
But Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders, who coordinates with Democrats, warned that Trump “quickly moved this country towards authoritarianism”. He accused the president of opposing the constitution and the rule of law.
Nanette Barragán, a democratic member of the congress, whose district comprises the areas of southern Los Angeles, who experienced many of the protests, told CNN that Trump was “sending the national guard because he does not like the scenes. He does not like the scenes of the people who protest peacefully.”
She added that she spoke to Sheriffs on site, who said that they had things under control and it was not necessary for BUND backups.
Barragán said that the officials in Los Angeles had said by the federal government that he should prepare for 30 days of implementation, while the Tar Tom Homan NBC border said that “around 150” and immigrants had already been arrested in the city in the city in the city.
The exact number of troops used was not confirmed by the authorities on Sunday.
