A re-flatable photo New York City Mayor candidate Zohran Mamdani, whose statue of Christopher Columbus is breaking up, is triggering a rebound online and sparking opposition with some members of the Italian-American community.

“It would be a danger to eliminate such a huge person,” Scolsa said. “It’s not tolerant. It’s exclusive. Who says who is a hero, who is not a hero? Columbus is our hero.”
